Abstract

The aim of the article is to present the legal regulations, both national and EU ones, re lating to the functioning of a European company and to indicate the benefits and risks associated with the presence of such entities in legal transactions. Therefore, the focus was mainly on the legal requirements, ranging from entities that can establish an EC, through registration requirements and how it functions in a diverse legal environment. An important element of this article is also an at tempt to answer the question of what is the practical use of EC at the present time and what is the reason for it and why there is so little interest in using an European Company as an entity serving to conduct business activity in the territory of the European Union.
